Profhilo
The injectable moisturiser
Profhilo works as an injectable moisturiser to improve the skin in areas of laxity or fine wrinkling, and improves the overall skin quality.
It is injected into the second layer of the skin, and spreads through that layer over 30 days, and during this time, stimulates the production of elastin and 4 different types of collagen. This gives significant improvement in the quality of the dermis and epidermis.
Profhilo has a unique spreading ability which makes it ideal for difficult to treat areas like the neck, décolletage, and lower face, which get “crepey” skin as we age.
Is Profhilo a filler?
Profhilo is a biostimulator, and causes remodelling of the top layers of the skin. Profhilo is thermally cross-linked, which means the Hyaluronic acid molecules are heated to bond them, whereas Dermal fillers are linked by chemical bonds. This means that they can be injected into the skin, and spread well in the upper layers of the skin, to give an overall improvement in skin quality in that area.
How long will the result last?
You will need 2 initial treatments spread four weeks apart, and you should start to see improvement around four weeks after the first treatment, as it takes this time for new collagen to form. The results will then last roughly six months, and a further single treatment would be advised at this time.
